Jubilee Lake Update

Despite a drop in temperatures back to seasonal norms and the onset of some much welcomed rain we still need to keep this venue closed. Our water levels are very low and will take some time to refill. Our oxygen levels are also very low so until these revive we will keep the venue closed. As per a recent FB post Jubilee only members can fish Mulsey Lake until Jubilee opens. Juniors must be accompanied by a full member or by a parent.

There are a few temporary rules we must enforce during until our lakes recover

No keepnets (unless in a match and then there will be a weigh in at halfway to keep stress levels to a minimum) to be used at any time. this also applies to any retaining sacks for carp.

Please keep any unhooking mat or cradle wet – do not place a fish onto a hot surface.

Do not cast or fish near the aerators even when off.

Once unhooked please return the fish to the water immediately – no weighing or photos at this time please.

When you have finished your session do not throw unused bait or groundbait into the water.

Please note that we will continue to monitor the waters and if we perceive that the fish are in distress or the temperature rises sharply again we may have to close the lakes, even during this period we may still switch our aerators on especially during the night. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time

The club has now reached its maximum number for this season 26/27. Memberships are still available for Jubilee Fields only and can be purchased from our clubmate membership portal

Jubilee Fields

The club are pleased to say that our friends at Billingshurst Parish Council have completed rebuilding a number of platforms at Jubilee Fields. They have done a splendid job and we are very grateful for this work as no doubt will the anglers that use them.

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

If you encounter any Anti Social Behaviour at any of our waters this should be reported to the Police. Sussex Police have a reporting site that you will find on the internet. This is a link to the site and also easily found using Google etc.

Most important to keep yourself safe and not to tackle the issues directly.

fishing across the river arun

Located in West Sussex, Billingshurst Angling Society welcome members of all ages and abilities.

Established in 1919, Billingshurst Angling Society offer our members specimen, pleasure and match fishing for Carp, large Bream, Pike and Tench with catches including carp over 30lb at our lakes (together with large Bream and Tench) and Carp to 30lb, Bream over 7lb and Pike over 26lb from the river!

Billingshurst Angling Society holds approximately 6 miles of the river Arun with our fisheries including one mile of the Wey and Arun Canal, Weir Wood reservoir, Stockwoods Lake at Shillinglee, Jubilee Fields in Billingshurst and Mulsey Farm (Ash Lake), south of Brinsbury College.

Note: ALL fish including eels to be returned to the water following capture. Under no circumstances must any fish be removed.

Billingshurst Angling Society is a very friendly and well established club with a variety of waters to suits all tastes. Specimen Carp fishing, miles of relatively untapped fishing on the non-tidal Arun, pleasure ponds and a thriving match scene. The fees offer incredibly good value for money and on some of the river stretches you may not see another angler!
